What is the FSWP?

The Federal Skilled Worker Program is designed for skilled workers with foreign work experience who wish to immigrate permanently to Canada. Applications are managed through the Express Entry system, where candidates are ranked based on points (Comprehensive Ranking System – CRS).

Frequently asked questions

FAQs

What is the minimum IELTS requirement for FSWP?

You must score at least CLB 7 (IELTS 6.0 in each band) to qualify. Higher scores improve CRS ranking.

How long does the FSWP process take?

Provincial nomination can take 2–6 months, followed by 6–12 months for PR processing with IRCC.

Do I need a job offer for FSWP?

No. A job offer is not mandatory, but it gives additional CRS points and improves chances of selection.

How many points do I need to qualify?

You must score at least 67 out of 100 on the FSWP selection grid, but for Express Entry, your CRS score determines your chances of receiving an ITA.
